Abstract

Authors´conclusions: prolonged screen time in 1-year-old children was associated with delays in the development of communication and problem solving at ages 2 and 4 years.

Reviewers´commentary: the results of this study indicate a possible association between screen use at one year of age and developmental delay in the areas of communication and problem solving at 2 and 4 years of age, with questionable impairment of social skills. It is difficult to establish the extent to which screen use may have affected these skills. Nevertheless, it allows a recommendation against the use of screens at such early ages.
