Abstract

Authors’ conclusions: applying CPAP by means of a nasal mask significantly shortens its duration and reduces the rates of moderate and severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia in preterm newborns.

Reviewers’ commentary: the study has methodological limitations; therefore the conclusions of the authors do not seem applicable.

Key words: bronchopulmonary dysplasia; continuous positive airway pressure; infant, premature; clinical trial.
