Abstract

Authors’ conclusions: premature infants with mild symptoms of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) do not benefit from early treatment with ibuprofen compared with those treated expectantly.

Reviewers’ commentary: the resultsof this study are not definitive in determining the optimal time in which to initiate treatment of PDA with ibuprofen in preterm infants.
